I have been an entrepreneur for over 30 years. I started working for a small Italian restaurant in 1977. After learning the business, I became co-owner of a small New York Italian style restaurant. We developed our own homemade recipes and manufactured products for resale.
My Hemp story ...
In 1996 I bought Chris Conrad's book "Hemp, Lifeline to the Future" and it changed my life! In 1997 I designed the “Original Hemp Board” used to assist in making hemp macramé jewelry. A year later, I started Hemp Sisters Inc. In a short period of time we became one of the largest industrial hemp internet businesses in the world selling hundreds of hemp and other natural fiber products. We created jobs by manufacturing the jewelry kit.
My vision led me to open a small store. I wanted to re-educate Americans on the history of hemp in the US.
I developed the 10x20 portable Hemp Hut and Hemp Hut kiosk for the Galleria Mall in Johnstown, PA and was successful in educating people in the area about hemp. Back then, we made our own bread and pancakes using hemp seeds and flour! The hemp food industry was very small. We sold hemp pasta, Jones Soda Company's Dave's Hemp Tea, and a few other hemp food products available at the time. I have eaten hemp for years and contribute it to my overall health at age 61!
Combining my love for the restaurant industry and my passion to save the world with hemp, I am extremely happy to be back in the hemp industry and ready to make it happen 26 years later!

In each episode 2 teams get a chance to pitch ideas to celebrity chefs Joe Bastianich and Tim Love, who choose which has the better concept. The selected one gets a tryout with three assets: keys to an L.A. establishment, 36 hours, & $7,500. The team uses them to test their dream in a pop-up restaurant, to devise a branding campaign, and to write a business plan -- under the scrutiny of a culinary consultant. Results of the 36-hour shot determine whether the entrepreneurs will get the backing.
